Direct Mail
The direct mail will be distributed out to selected houses which will be chosen according to the existing database of the audience for the past Gods of Metal festivals. It is a mini toy guitar. It is around 10cm in length, 5cm wide and with a thickness of 1.5cm. It will come in three colours, blue, green and red.
On the front panel, the strings serve as a button, which, when tapped lightly will trigger a sound clip to play. The sound clip opens with “Gods of Metal 2015” followed by the tagline “POWER TO THE METAL!!” which will be sung out in a high pitch wail. It is followed by an intense guitar solo which will play for 7 seconds and then it ends with a call to action; poking the audience to visit the Gods of Metal website for more information.
At the back of the direct mail is the speaker where the sound comes from. More importantly is the code at the back. Each direct mail will have a distinct code which can be redeemed for a discount if they type insert that code when ordering their tickets online.





Social Media
The Gods of Metal Facebook page will serve as an information hub to directly engage their audience. Some activities will be held on the Facebook page as well where users can win prizes from which includes free tickets or merchandises.
An example of competition will be ‘Guess the solo’ where a guitar solo from a song of one of the featured bands in Gods of Metal 2015 will be played and users are required to guess which song does the solo belongs to. The fastest and most accurate answer will win a prize.
